Hazchem - Strange Attractor (1990)

"In 1990 members of '70's UK underground legends The High Tide, Kingdom Come and Third Ear Band got together to make this album under the name Hazchem. As you would expect this is an eclectic and weird concoction with a spacey feel mixing the harder edges of progressive rock with the flowing eastern improvisation of The Third Ear band. Vocals are handled by female vocalist Sushi Krishnamurthi who also wrote some of the material. An interesting experiment." (Official review)

Fifty Foot Hose - Cauldron (1967)

"Fifty Foot Hose were essentially a studio band that only played a handful of gigs during their 18 months together. They set out to fuse avant-garde attitudes to just about every piece of noise-making electronic equipment they could get their hands on, including sirens, audio generators, oscillators and Theremins. They also had a major asset in the distinctive voice of Nancy Blossom." (Rateyourmusic.com review)

Axe - Music (1969)

Don't confuse with a 80's American Hard Rock band. Extremely rare album, according to record label, this album is one of the world's three rarest LPs, only six acetate copies were made in 1969. "A lost classic of the Psychedelic Underground Heay Rock, Curved Air meets Cream." The vocals are leaded by Vivienne. Highly recommended.

Window - Window (1974)

"This fabulous folky/psych album from the '70s is yet another example of another great album that fell through the cracks in the musical pavement. When references to Window's self-titled album do pop up on the Internet, it is usually in a Christian folk context, although there is precious little of this genre present on this lovely, wistful acoustic album. The star of the show is undoubtedly the (un-named) singer, whose range, poise and delivery are reminiscent of the vocal talents Linda Perhacs, Vashti Bunyan, and even Joni Mitchell in her Court And Spark/Hissing Of Summer Lawns heyday. There's lots of trippy psych, particularly on the outstanding The Magician and Noah, and the strong, acoustic guitar-based accompaniment is tight but understated throughout. This, then, is an album that will appeal to lovers of folk-based female vocalist in particular, as well as appealing to those that just simply like good music. Another '70s obscurity that comes highly recommended." (Radioactive Records review)

Born in New York City, Peggy Lipton is actress, apparently she is famous for a role in TV show "The Mod Squad" in late 60's. This is her sole album recorded in the same time. Natural Acoustic Band - Learning to Live (1972) / Branching In (1974)

"Resolutely indebted to the hippy folk wave (which hep cats these days now call 'Acid Folk') Learning To Live and Branching In are impressive, if unremarkable, acoustic folk/pop/rock efforts that evoke Magna Carta - who guitarist Tim Hoy would later join - and the harmony light folk of US acts ala The Rose Garden. In short, the band's subtle blend of male and female harmonies [Krysia Kocjan] is an amalgamation of the Peter, Paul & Mary school of folk with hippy mysticism formulated under the influence of the Fairport explosion. The second album stands out in particular with its weaving of gentle pop, firmer band based performances and surprising psych rocker 'Is It True Blue?'." (BGO Records review)

"In the Labyrinth performs a kind of Progressive rock with very strong ethnic influences. Following in this path their friends of Orient Squeezers, those musicians prove to be a lot less traditional in their approach, and let some great space to electric instruments. Some Indian, Oriental and even African influences are put on a rock basis, and this result can remind, depending on the moment, of Peter Gabriel, Agitation Free and even Pink Floyd." Homestead & Wolfe - Our Times - The Gold Star Tapes (1973-75) (1975)

Homestead & Wolfe was a very obscure folk-harmony group based around the United Methodist Good Samaritan Church in California. The songs were recorded between 1973-75 and released with few copies. The album was almost forgotten until it was reissued in 2004. Comprised of two female vocals, one male vocal with superb male and female harmonies throughout. The group performed original material in a rich, melodic folk-rock-country style that is well executed, as well as earnest and personal.

Babe Ruth - First Base (1972)

"First Base was British hard rock group Babe Ruth's biggest success, both in terms of popular and critical acclaim. This LP defined an interesting junction between hard rock and progressive rock. The two driving forces behind this album were guitarist Alan Shackloc, who wrote most of the material, and vocalist Janita Haan, who came out as the perfect balance between Janis Joplin and Robert Plant. The album contained "The Mexican," the band's classic song which also includes a theme by western soundtrack composer Ennio Morricone ("Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu"). With its long songs (six to eight minutes) and lush arrangements, First Base seduced both the hard rock and the progressive rock crowds." (AMG review)

Rebekka - Phoenix (1982)

"Rebekka introduces brilliant and sophisticated Progressive rock, close to Renaissance or Illusion. This is mainly due to Marion Weldert's wonderful vocals, beauty of the melodies and prominent piano parts. Saxophone, flute and ethnic instruments also lend harmonic richness and originality to its excellent romantic rock. Phoenix (1982) is the reissue of the first album ever released by the German band, treated in the usual Musea manner: complete biography and never-published track from the same recording sessions.
